So how does it all work?

DataBackup.ie uses an improved and convenient alternative to the traditional process of storing backup copies of your computer data without dealing with media like tapes and CD's. Your data is stored securely and automatically via your standard internet connection and is available around the clock. Your data is compressed and encrypted before leaving your computer, so your private information stays private!
We run as two programs - one on your computer called the "client", the other on our servers called the "server". These two programs communicate with each other using encrypted and compressed data transfers that quickly and securely store your critical data in our electronic data vault. Only you have access to this password protected data. Once the data is transferred, you are able to retrieve any of your backed up files by running the "client" software in restore mode

Worried that you have too much data to upload?

Don't. Databackup.ie can now take a local backup of your data on our external storage disks and bring them to our data centre and transfer them to our data vault, so any uploading you do will only be your data that changes

Your backup data will be stored on a SAN shared by multiple customers. Shared storage is an ideal low cost solution for users who have small amount of backup data, i.e. under 1TB. Your data will be protected by 256bit encryption and only you will have access to your data via a private encryption key chosen during signup. Our SANs are run on Raid10 and Raid50 which allow for multpile hard drive and storage shelf failures without any loss of data giving you the ultimate in security and peace of mind. Backup and restore of data can be done quickly through the Internet.
