Enom is one of the world largest registers, popular with webhosts for their reseller functions. A member of the databackup.ie technical team has stumbled upon a public html folder which included a list of almost 40,000 biz domains in a text file list.

This list could easily be used as a key business list for spammers, who would only have to do a simple add of info@ to each domain in MS Word using “Find and Replace”

DataBackup.ie have reported the issue to Enom and the list has been taken down. A screen shot of the live list below.

Over the weekend we added a highend DDOS Mitigation device for detecting and defeating today’s highly complex and sophisticated distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

The DDOS Shield will detect the presence of a potential DDoS attack, and block malicious traffic in real time, without affecting the flow of legitimate, mission-critical transactions, thus ensuring availability and business continuity.

Our core storage grid is now protected incase we ever experience a ddos attack against our network in Digiweb.

The firewall also got upgraded over the weekend, downtime was not experienced across the grid however certain Servers traffic was a bit choppy today, but all is resolved and back to normal now.

We thank our technical team for the hard work they put in over the weekend to avoid an outage.

This week I sat down to do a close inspection on what keyword’s are the top one’s people search for when using google to find a provider to manage their data backup’s.

I created this report by analysing Top Queries by google via alexa traffic reports, to some of the global leader’s and house hold name’s in backup industry globally.

Here is what I came up with

When moving away from the global providers around for the last decade and taken a quick peak at local Irish providers its quite interesting to see Irish people tend to google the company’s name more than typing the address, this is quite alarming, as marketing demo graph’s change from time to time.

DataBackup.ie are delighted to be in late talks, and due to sign a deal next week to Merge with another Irish Backup company and high tech cloud provider.

The Merger will greatly improve our support procedures, instant telephone support answering , and proactive response to customers.

Infrastructure upgrades will instantly take place, and will be based in the Digiweb data facilities, which include Hewlett Packard processing power and San Storage systems.

The move will also introduce databackup other recent brand aquisions to the Irish Marketspace.
